Can you replace one hybrid battery module instead of the whole pack?
Often, yes. We test every module under load. If one or two modules are weak and the rest are healthy, replacing and balancing those modules can cost far less than a new pack. If several modules are failing, we'll tell you a full pack is the better buy.
How do I know if my hybrid battery is failing?
Common signs are a Check Hybrid System message or warning light, code P0A80 on Toyota and Lexus hybrids, falling fuel economy, the gas engine running more than usual, and a battery gauge that swings quickly between empty and full.
Will using an independent shop void my warranty?
No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer can't void your warranty just because maintenance or repairs were done by an independent shop.
Do you work on Tesla?
Yes. We handle maintenance and out-of-warranty repairs on Model S, 3, X and Y, including suspension, tires and alignment, low-voltage battery, A/C and heat pump service, and diagnostics. High-voltage battery and drive unit warranty repairs should go to Tesla, and we'll tell you when that applies.
What is an EV battery health report?
A written report on a used electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle's high-voltage battery: state of health where the manufacturer's data allows, cell or module balance, stored fault codes, a live charge test and an insulation check.
Can a regular shop service my hybrid's A/C?
Hybrids and EVs with electric A/C compressors need a special insulating oil. The oil used in ordinary A/C machines can contaminate the system and damage the compressor. We use equipment kept separate for high-voltage vehicles.
Is it safe to work on high-voltage systems?
It is when it's done correctly. Our technicians de-energize the high-voltage system and verify it is dead before working on it, using insulated tools and rated gloves.
Do you check for recalls?
Yes. Before we quote any repair, we check your VIN for open recalls and warranty extensions, so you don't pay for work the manufacturer covers.
